BDO USA is seeking a Valuation & Capital Market Analysis Associate – Complex Financial Instruments in the San Francisco area. The role supports client engagements by building valuation models, performing industry and client research, and analyzing financial statements under experienced guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, or Economics, required.
• Graduate degree or relevant credential (FRM, CFA) preferred.
• Prior experience (internship or work study) in valuation, corporate finance or accounting environment, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the delivery of projects related to the valuation of illiquid and complex securities, hard-to-value assets, financial derivatives, and structured products.
• Constructs financial models used in valuation of complex financial instruments for reporting, tax and regulatory needs.
• Uses mathematical and statistical models (Monte Carlo, lattice) for valuations across asset classes.
• Aids in hedge advisory, model validation, and economic studies as needed.
• Prepares exhibits and memos illustrating complex issues; composes narrative reports.
