Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Valuation & Capital Market Analysis Associate – Complex Financial Instruments. The role supports the team in valuation modeling, industry and client research, and analysis of financial statements within a collaborative environment.

You will build valuation models for illiquid assets, derivatives, and structured products, and contribute to reports and narratives while coordinating with management to deliver high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, or Economics, required
• Graduate degree or relevant credential (FRM, CFA) preferred
• Prior experience (internship or work study) in valuation, corporate finance or accounting environment
• Proficient in MS Office; Excel, PowerPoint, Word required; VBA/Python/R preferred
• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, SNL, or Bloomberg preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists with valuation of illiquid and complex securities, derivatives, and structured products.
• Constructs financial models used for valuation for reporting, tax, regulatory, and strategy purposes.
• Uses mathematical and statistical models including Monte Carlo and lattice models for multiple asset classes.
• Supports hedge advisory, model validation, and economic studies.
• Prepares exhibits and memos; writes narrative reports.
• Documents and maintains all work product and ensures quality controls.
• Participates in client meetings and conducts industry/economic research.
• Guides peers in project planning and timelines.
