Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Valuation & Capital Market Analysis Associate – Complex Financial Instruments in Los Angeles. You will contribute to valuation modeling, industry and client research, and analysis of financial statements as part of a collaborative team.

The role involves constructing models for reporting, tax, and regulatory needs, using advanced financial techniques, and presenting findings to clients and management. Strong communication and analytic skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, or Economics is required.
• Graduate degree or CFA/FRM credentials are preferred.
• Prior internship or work-study in valuation, corporate finance, or accounting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with valuation of illiquid and complex securities, OTC derivatives, and structured products.
• Construct financial models used for reporting, tax, regulatory, and strategy purposes.
• Apply Monte Carlo simulations and lattice models to value multiple asset classes.
• Prepare exhibits and memos illustrating complex issues; draft narrative valuation reports.
• Support client meetings and ensure quality control of work products.
