Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking an engineer to partner with product management, manufacturing, and supply chain to develop and support vacuum valves from ideation through production.

The role focuses on prototype development, performance testing, and designing test fixtures, with close collaboration across engineering and operations to ensure scalable, reliable products. The position is onsite and requires up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
• Exposure to vacuum technology and mechanical fabrication (machining, welding, brazing, sheet metal).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Ideation, design and development through prototype production.
• Define and operate engineering performance tests and test plans.
• Design test fixtures and equipment for performance evaluation.
• Create detailed engineering drawings and analyses.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to ensure manufacturability and reliability.
• Ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards.
