Job summary

MKS is seeking a highly skilled engineer to lead vacuum valve development in our Andover, MA facility. You will collaborate with product management, applications engineering and customers to create innovative solutions through the full PDP, from ideation to production.

The role requires 5+ years of engineering experience, strong CAD/FEA capabilities, and expertise in vacuum technology, fabrication, and manufacturing. Onsite work with a focus on reliability and quality is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with manual and FEA analysis.
• Experience with Vacuum Technology.
• Experience with mechanical fabrication techniques (machining, welding, brazing, sheet metal).
• Technical experience in product development and manufacturing.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product management, applications engineering and customers to understand requirements and develop solutions.
• Work with engineering team from ideation to prototype production for vacuum valve development.
• Develop test plans for engineering performance and reliability.
• Design test fixtures and equipment for product performance and evaluation.
• Create specifications, perform 3D modeling, and produce engineering drawings.
• Apply 3D CAD/FEA tools to analyze mechanical, thermal and fluid performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable.
• Ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory requirements through verification.
