Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Massachusetts seeks an experienced Engineer to lead vacuum valve development, collaborating with product management, applications, and manufacturing to bring designs to volume production.

You will design, test, and analyze using 3D CAD and FEA, develop test fixtures, and ensure manufacturability and reliability across the PDP. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with manual and FEA analysis.
• Experience with Vacuum Technology.
• Experience with mechanical fabrication techniques (machining, welding, brazing, sheet metal).
• Technical experience in product development and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product management, applications engineering and customers to understand requirements and develop solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering to ideate, design and prototype through to production.
• Develop test plans for engineering performance and reliability.
• Design test fixtures and equipment for product evaluation.
• Create specifications, perform analysis, and generate detailed engineering drawings.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable through PDP to volume production.
• Ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards through testing and verification.
