Job summary
MKS Instruments in Andover, MA is seeking an engineer to drive vacuum valve development from concept to production onsite. You will partner with product management, applications engineering and customers to translate requirements into robust designs and test strategies.
The role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, performance testing, and reliable scale-up to volume production. You will contribute to designing test fixtures, performing mechanical, thermal and fluid analysis, and ensuring regulatory
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- 3D CAD modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience with manual and FEA analysis.
- Experience with Vacuum Technology.
- Mechanical fabrication techniques (machining, welding, brazing, sheet metal).
- Technical experience in product development and manufacturing.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product management, applications engineering and customers to understand requirements and develop solutions.
- Design and develop vacuum valve concepts from ideation to MVP to production.
- Develop test plans for performance and reliability, and evaluate with fixtures and equipment.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality, performance and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and operations during PDP, launch and scale-up to volume production.
