Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an experienced engineer to join our onsite team focused on vacuum valve development. You will partner with product management, applications, and customers to drive design, testing, and production readiness.

This role emphasizes MVP-driven development and close collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in engineering, expertise in vacuum tech, and hands-on CAD/FEA experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering.
8+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
Experience with manual and FEA analysis.
Demonstrated strengths in Vacuum Technology.
Experience with mechanical fabrication techniques (machining, welding, brazing, sheet metal).
Technical experience in product development and manufacturing.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Partner with Product management, applications engineering and customers to understand requirements and develop solutions.
Collaborate with engineering to design and develop prototypes through to production.
Mentor engineers and technicians in UHV principles, design approaches and troubleshooting methods.
Develop test plans for engineering performance and reliability.
Design test fixtures and equipment for product performance and evaluation.
Create specifications, perform analyses and generate detailed engineering drawings.
