Job summary

DirectShifts is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform VA General Medicine examinations and complete DBQs in compliance with VA guidelines. The role requires independent work within established protocols and strong documentation.

Responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, performing physical assessments, and producing detailed reports with accuracy, while adhering to HIPAA and state/federal regulations. Flexible scheduling options are available.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license.
• Collaborative agreement with supervising physician as required by state law.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently following clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct VA C&P General Medicine examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical history and supporting documentation prior to each evaluation.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments.
• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Ensure compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely completion of evaluations.
