Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a licensed NP or PA to perform VA General Medicine examinations, review records, and complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) following VA guidelines. You will document findings and prepare detailed medical reports while ensuring HIPAA compliance and coordinating with clinical teams.

The role offers flexible scheduling (FT/PT/PRN), competitive compensation, and no on-call or ongoing patient management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license.
• Collaborative agreement with supervising physician, when required by state law.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while following clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct VA C&P General Medicine examinations.
• Review veterans' medical history and documentation prior to evaluations.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments.
• Complete DBQs accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective medical reports.
• Ensure compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and state/federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely evaluations.
