Job summary

Empower Mental Health is seeking an experienced Audiologist to perform VA Compensation & Pension evaluations for Veterans in a flexible, contract role. Conduct structured audiology assessments, review records, and document findings in VA formats.

This non-treatment, evaluation-focused position offers in-person opportunities and no ongoing patient care. The ideal candidate holds an active Audiologist license, access to calibrated equipment, and can work independently under VA guidelines, with a

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Audiologist license.
• Must have access to a calibrated audiometer capable of performing VA-required hearing evaluations.
• Must have access to a diagnostic tympanometer (immittance device) capable of performing tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing.
• Master's Degree or higher in relevant field.
• Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
• Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols.
• Comfortable performing objective, fact-based evaluations.
• Comfortability performing Maryland CNC speech recognition testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) audiology evaluations for Veterans
• Perform structured hearing loss and tinnitus-related evaluations based on VA guidelines
• Review relevant medical records and examination information
• Obtain relevant history through focused, objective interviews
• Perform required audiometric testing and related clinical documentation as required
• Prepare clear, concise, and timely reports in VA-required formats
• Provide objective, fact-based findings without influencing the outcome of a Veteran's claim
• Submit completed examination documentation within required timeframes
• Maintain clear boundaries between evaluation and treatment
• Follow all applicable ethical, legal, professional, and confidentiality requirements
