Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a UXO Technician II to support munitions response actions and range clearance across multiple U.S. locations, including Novi, MI. The role involves detecting, recovering, and disposing of UXO and MEC with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will perform reconnaissance, use magnetometers for subsurface investigations, and assist with disposal operations. Travel to various project sites is required, and U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.

Qualifications

• Meet UXO Technician II qualifications per DoD TP-18.
• Minimum 3 years EOD/UXO experience incl. munitions response/range clearance.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refresher.
• US citizenship required due to client requirements.
• Ability to travel for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnaissance, identification, and classification of UXO.
• Conduct subsurface UXO investigations using magnetometers and other approved equipment.
• Excavate and recover buried UXO using manual and mechanical methods.
• Locate and identify surface UXO through visual inspection and reconnaissance.
• Establish and maintain safe holding areas for recovered UXO.
• Handle UXO and demolition materials per applicable requirements.
• Prepare UXO disposal sites and support demolition operations.
• Assemble and prepare firing systems for UXO disposal activities.
• Conduct disposal of UXO and explosive materials via approved methods.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and project procedures.
• Support technical documentation and field reporting.
