Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a UXO Technician to support a variety of munitions response actions and range clearance activities in Nashville, TN, and other locations. This role focuses on detection, identification, recovery, and disposal of UXO and MEC, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will perform reconnaissance, use magnetometers and approved equipment, and contribute to field operations across multiple sites while maintaining rigorous health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of EOD/UXO experience with munitions response and/or range clearance.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refresher training.
• US citizenship is required.
• Experience recognizing MEC/UXO.
• Knowledge of explosive safety procedures and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnaissance, identification, and classification of UXO, incl. missiles, bombs, grenades, rockets, mines, and MEC.
• Conduct subsurface UXO investigations using magnetometers and approved detection equipment.
• Excavate and recover buried UXO using manual and mechanical methods.
• Locate and identify surface UXO through visual inspection and field reconnaissance.
• Establish and maintain safe holding areas for recovered UXO.
• Handle UXO and demolition materials per safety requirements.
• Prepare UXO disposal sites and support demolition operations.
• Assemble and prepare firing systems for UXO disposal activities.
• Disposal of UXO and explosives by burn or detonation methods.
• Adhere to health, safety, and explosive safety standards.
• Support technical documentation, field reporting, and data collection.
