Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a UXO Technician II to support munitions response actions and range clearance activities across multiple U.S. locations including San Diego, CA and others. The role emphasizes detection, recovery, and disposal of UXO with strict safety compliance and extensive field operations.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of EOD/UXO, HazWoper certification, and the ability to travel to field sites. Citizenship is required for client compliance and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of EOD/UXO experience including munitions response or range clearance.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refresher.
• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to travel and work in remote field environments.
• Experience recognizing MEC/UXO and safe handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnaissance, identification, and classification of UXO including missiles, bombs, projectiles, grenades, and related MEC.
• Conduct subsurface UXO investigations using magnetometers and approved detection equipment.
• Excavate and recover buried UXO using manual and mechanical methods.
• Locate and identify surface UXO through visual inspection and reconnaissance.
• Maintain safe holding areas for recovered UXO and handle disposal materials per requirements.
• Prepare UXO disposal sites and support demolition operations.
• Assemble firing systems for UXO disposal and conduct disposal by approved methods.
• Follow all health and safety, explosive safety standards and project procedures.
