Job summary

WSP is seeking a UXO Technician II to support munitions response and range clearance activities across multiple locations including Albuquerque, NM. You will perform detection, recovery, and disposal of UXO and MEC, ensuring strict adherence to explosive safety standards and project procedures.

Travel to remote field environments and strong teamwork are essential. Qualified candidates have 3+ years of EOD/UXO experience, 40-hour HAZWOPER, and the ability to work safely under varied weather

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of EOD/UXO experience, including munitions response and/or range clearance.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refresher.
• Knowledge of MEC/UXO recognition and explosive safety practices.
• Ability to travel and work in remote field environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnaissance, identification, and classification of UXO and MEC.
• Conduct subsurface UXO investigations using magnetometers and other detection equipment.
• Excavate and recover buried UXO using manual and mechanical methods.
• Locate and identify surface UXO through visual inspection and field reconnaissance.
• Maintain safe holding areas for recovered UXO and handle demolition materials safely.
• Prepare UXO disposal sites and support demolition operations.
• Assemble firing systems for UXO disposal activities and conduct detonation operations.
