Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned design leader to head Product Design & Research in a B2B SaaS setting. You will drive an AI-native workflow embedded in product teams and set a multi-quarter design vision across platforms and lines of AI-powered products.

You will hire and mentor senior designers, report to the CPO, and champion WCAG-aligned, interactive prototypes built from the codebase with GitHub integration.

Job description

• Lead the Product Design & Research organization through an AI-native, codebase-anchored shift embedded directly into product-line teams
• Set the multi-quarter design vision across the platform and AI-powered product lines
• Make the case for design investment at the executive table
• Rebuild the operating model from a centralized ticket queue to decentralized pods embedded in product-line tracks
• Enable designers to work directly against the codebase using GitHub to produce interactive, implementation-accurate prototypes
• Drive cross-functional speed between designers and PMs using AI
• Govern the design system as infrastructure to accelerate design and engineering velocity
• Drive B2B design excellence for complex, data-dense, multi-persona enterprise workflows with WCAG 2.2 accessibility
• Use usability testing and behavioral analytics such as FullStory and Pendo to inform roadmap-level decisions
• Hire and build the design team
• Establish a direct, kind, feedback-oriented culture with strong points of view
• Report directly to the CPO and influence product direction

Requirements

• 10+ years of UX or product design experience as a strong, opinionated design leader who drives change
• Proven track record setting and executing design strategy at the organizational level, including hiring and developing senior design talent
• B2B SaaS background, not primarily consumer
• Real, hands-on fluency in AI-augmented design workflows, including specific tools, processes, and built outputs
• Demonstrated personal drive to stay current on AI-enabled design through training, cohorts, or peer networks
• Clear point of view on resolving design/PM overlap in an AI-builder workflow, rooted in shared ownership
• Proven experience building and governing design systems as cross-team infrastructure
• Strong command of WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards
• Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field; equivalent experience accepted
• Experience in cybersecurity or a closely adjacent regulated/enterprise-trust space preferred
• Experience scaling a design org through a growth stage or product expansion preferred
• Experience formalizing agile, pod-based design operating models preferred
• History building design leadership pipelines preferred
• Comfort engaging directly with customers, including live, collaborative sessions preferred
