Job summary

Oomnitza is hiring a UX Design Engineer to own the design system, component library, and prototyping tooling that powers our Product Engineering team. The role is hands-on, focusing on code and tooling to maintain and evolve the Storybook library and prototyping scaffolds.

The position can sit in the US or Ireland, as most work centers on tooling and systems, with opportunities to influence across product teams and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience owning or contributing to a production design system and a component library.
• Strong front-end skills with React, TypeScript, CSS and accessibility.
• Ability to document patterns and guide Product Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the design system end-to-end, including visual language and accessibility guardrails.
• Maintain and extend the Storybook component library with accessible, documented components.
• Build prototyping tooling and design tokens to accelerate feasibility studies.
• Consult with engineers to add new patterns and align design system with implementation.
• Collaborate with engineering to keep the design system and library aligned.
• Ensure high-quality design output and reduce drift across the team.
• Monitor AI design tooling trends and propose investments.
