Job summary

Whatnot Design System Engineer role focuses on evolving the company’s design system across iOS, Android, and web. You will own tokens, component APIs, and tooling to ship coherent UI quickly with high quality.

You will partner with product designers to close gaps between design and production, enforce accessibility, dark mode, and internationalization, and build automation to accelerate migrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building user-facing products.
• Experience shipping production UI on iOS/Android/web across two platforms.
• Strong collaboration with designers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve Whatnot Design System components across iOS, Android, and web.
• Own and extend design token architecture and the automated pipeline from Figma to code.
• Collaborate daily with product designers to ensure alignment and tooling support.
• Improve accessibility, theming, dark mode, RTL, and testing for quality.
