Job summary

Teradyne, a leader in test and automation, seeks a UI Software Engineer to evolve Opal, Teradyne’s internal design system. You will build reusable React/TypeScript components and tooling that help product teams deliver consistent user experiences.

You’ll collaborate with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to translate design standards into production-ready implementations, craft Storybook examples, and ensure accessibility and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Approximately 3+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong experience with React and TypeScript for modern web apps.
Experience with component-based architecture and shared UI libraries.
Experience with UI testing tools (Jest, Playwright, Testing Library).
Experience with Git, GitHub, Jira in Agile environments.
Experience building/designing a design system or component library.
Experience with WCAG and accessibility testing.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of reusable UI components for Teradyne’s design system.
Develop libraries in React/TypeScript; support desktop UI environments as applicable.
Translate design specs (Figma) into scalable implementation patterns.
Create Storybook examples and developer guidance for adoption.
Ensure consistency, accessibility, performance, and maintainability of components.
Support API design, code reviews, testing, packaging, and releases.
Collaborate with UX, Product, and Engineering to leverage AI-assisted development responsibly.
