The University of Utah is seeking Tutors for Utah Reads to help elementary school students struggling with reading. Tutors will work with students individually or in small groups and may assist in after-school programs.
Must be a current student in good standing with at least a 3.0 GPA and have a Federal Work‑Study Award. Flexible scheduling is available, but a commitment for at least one school year is expected.
Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour. Tutors set their own weekly schedules within the available tutoring hours of the assigned site. Tutors must commit to at least 4 hours per week on at least 2 days of the week and cannot exceed 19 hours per week.
Utah Reads employees tutor elementary school students who are reading below grade‑level, working with children individually or in small groups. Tutors may also provide classroom help or assistance in after‑school programs. Tutors are assigned to a specific site and work off‑campus.
