Job summary

NC State University is seeking a Temporary HR Quality Assurance Technician to audit PeopleSoft HR data and ensure accuracy across frequent transactions. The role emphasizes data quality, process improvements, and compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

Essential Job Duties:

Key responsibilities include:

Data Auditing and Analysis

• Auditing PeopleSoft HR system data for precision and compliance with state guidelines/Board of Trustees/Board of Governors, and University policies and communicating findings to college/division HR leads.
• Analyzing data error reports to identify and implement system and process changes to reduce errors and improve data quality.

Project Management and Process Development

• Utilizing a customer-first and continuous improvement mindset to develop and oversee projects and processes that increase efficiencies and ensure quality assurance and compliance of various transaction types entered into the HR system.

Training and Communication

• Contributing to the development and delivery of university-wide training and communication materials related to the PeopleSoft HR system, best practices, and standard operating procedures.

Consultation and Technical Assistance

• Providing expertise, consultation, and technical assistance to campus HR partners on best practices and areas for improvement.
• Proactively identifying and troubleshooting atypical PeopleSoft HR system issues.
• Collaborating with technical staff as necessary to test and resolve system issues and/or enhancements.
• Reviewing and approving campus hire transactions.

Relationship Building and Collaboration

• Actively building and maintaining positive and collaborative professional work relationships with campus HR partners and other University HR staff.
• Participating in campus-wide and HR work groups and initiatives as the HRIMA SME.

Other Work/Responsibilities:

• Serving as backup to the HR Quality Assurance Manager and other team members as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience/Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in HR operations, HR quality assurance, or HR data auditing.
• Experience working with HRIS platforms (preferably PeopleSoft).

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:

• Extensive knowledge of an automated Human Resources System (preferably PeopleSoft).
• HR experience at a higher education institution (preferably NC State).
• Experience in managing projects including prioritizing work to meet timelines and milestones.
• Experience utilizing ServiceNow case management.
