Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintain sanitation of kitchen, cafeteria, dining rooms, and other areas.
• Clean plates, trays, glassware, utensils, pots and pans using a dishwasher or by hand.
• Follow safe use of chemicals.
• Perform general cleaning: sweeping, mopping, washing, trash disposal.
• Maintain cleaning schedules for utility areas and equipment.
• Receive and store deliveries; assist with stock as needed.
• Assist prep cooks and kitchen staff during peak times.

Salary Range: $16.00 To $16.00 Hourly

M eriwether Godsey is looking for a Fulltime Utility Steward/Dishwasher at Hollins University, located in Roanoke, VA.

• Pay rate: $16 per hour
• Must be available to work as follows: mornings, evenings, and weekends

What you will do:

• Maintain sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, dining room, and other areas assigned by Management.
• Clean plates, trays, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using an industrial dishwasher or by hand.
• Consistently adhere to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace.
• P erform general cleaning, as directed, to include sweeping, mopping up, washing up, and emptying of trash bins and boxes, ensuring placement in the correct containers
• Ensure an appropriate cleaning schedule is maintained for utility areas and equipment
• Follow all food safety protocols; receive and put away stock/deliveries in designated storage areas
• Assist prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
