Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at a private school in Norfolk, VA. You will set up and operate the dish machine, clean cafeteria areas, and help with food safety and sanitation.

This role requires weekday availability from 7am to 3pm and involves standing in hot, humid kitchen environments with a team-focused approach and reliable work ethic.

Qualifications

• Must be available Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm.
• Ability to measure products and convert units.
• Reliability and willingness to work in a hot, humid environment.
• Good communication skills and a great attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items.
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
• Clean cafeteria and serving areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruption
• Set up and use a compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
• Assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
• Perform all duties by food safety and sanitation best practices
• Other duties, as assigned

Salary Range: $16.00 To $16.00 Hourly

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at a private school located in the heart of Norfolk, VA.

• Must be available to work: Monday-Friday, 7a-3p.

What you will do:
