Meriwether Godsey, Inc. in Alexandria, VA is hiring a Dishwasher/Utility Steward to maintain sanitation across kitchen, cafeteria, and dining areas at a local independent school.

This full-time 9-month position offers a daytime schedule, competitive pay at $18 per hour, uniforms, meals, training, and benefits. You will work Mon-Fri, 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, with opportunities for growth and clear food-safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred).
• Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility: ability to switch between tasks and responsibilities as needed.
• Reliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environment.
• Ability to stand/move about for long periods and lift 25 lbs.
• Good communication skills and great attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items.
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately.
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas.
• Clean cafeteria areas throughout and after meal periods and replenish them to ensure service without interruption.
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash.
• Assist with receiving and storing food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety.
• Perform all duties according to food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Dishwasher/Utility Steward responsible for maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at an independent school in Alexandria, Virginia, which educates students from ages 3 through grade 12.

• Full-time
• Monday-Friday, 7:30 am- 3:00 pm
• Pay rate: $18.00

What the Utility Steward will do:
