Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time or Part-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at Chatham Hall, a college preparatory school in Chatham, VA. You will operate dish machines, maintain cleanliness, and assist with food service tasks in a fast-paced kitchen.

The role offers an hourly rate of $14.00 with a rotating schedule that includes weekends, and meals, uniforms, and growth opportunities are provided by the employer.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing experience (at least 1 year preferred).
• Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to switch tasks as needed.
• Reliability and willingness to work in a hot, humid environment.
• Ability to stand/move for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Adherence to safety and sanitation procedures.
• Good communication and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate dish machine to clean and sanitize dishes, trays, glassware, pots and pans.
• Record dish-machine temperatures and report issues promptly.
• Transport supplies and assist with dining area setup.
• Clean dining and service areas and replenish supplies.
• Use three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, sweep/mop floors, remove trash.
• Assist with receiving and storage of food products following food safety procedures.
• Perform duties per food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time or Part-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at Chatham Hall, a college preparatory school located in Chatham, VA.

Schedule & Compensation

• Must be able to work a rotating schedule between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, including weekends.
• Hourly rate: $14.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine to clean and sanitize dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items.
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures; report low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately.
• Transport related supplies and assist with setup of dining and serving areas.
• Clean dining and serving areas throughout and after each meal period, replenishing supplies to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removing trash.
• Assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation, following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety.
• Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
