Meriwether Godsey in Norfolk, VA is hiring full-time for a Utility Steward/Dishwasher at a private school. Monday–Friday, 7a–3p, with duties including operating the dish machine, sanitation, and food-service support in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine to clean and sanitize dishes, trays, and pots.
• Record dish-machine temperatures and report issues promptly.
• Transport supplies and help set up dining and serving areas.
• Clean cafeteria spaces and replenish to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Maintain sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including floors and waste removal.
• Assist with receiving and storage of food and proper food handling procedures.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at a private school located in the heart of Norfolk, VA.

• Must be available to work: Monday-Friday, 7a-3p.

What You Will Do

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
• Clean cafeteria and serving areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruption
• Set up and use a compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
• Assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
• Perform all duties by food safety and sanitation best practices
• Other duties, as assigned
