Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher to maintain sanitation in the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at a private independent day school in Richmond, VA. This role requires working Monday to Friday, 10a-3p, with a pay range of $16-$18 per hour.

You will set up and operate the dish machine, monitor temperatures, and help with dining area setup and sanitation. You’ll also assist with food handling, unloading supplies, and keeping floors clean, in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred).
• Ability to work in a hot, humid environment.
• Excellent communication and attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans; scrape, separate, and organize items.
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately.
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas.
• Clean cafeteria areas throughout and after meal periods, and replenish them to ensure service without interruption.
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash.
• Assist with the receiving and storage of food products and food preparation, following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety.
• Perform all duties under food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Other duties, as assigned.

What You Need

• Ability to stand/move about for long periods and lift 25 lbs.
