Job summary

Meriwether Godsey seeks a Dishwasher/Utility Steward to maintain sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining areas at a Philadelphia independent school serving Pre-K through 12. The role emphasizes safe dish handling, timely setup, and consistent cleaning to support daily meal service.

Must pass an FBI background check and have dishwasher experience. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, stay flexible, and communicate well.

Qualifications

• Must pass an FBI background check
• Prior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred)
• Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility: ability to switch between tasks and responsibilities as needed
• Reliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environment
• Ability to stand/move about for long periods and lift 25 lbs
• Ability to adhere to company safety and sanitation procedures
• Good communication skills and great attitude

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
• Clean cafeteria areas throughout and after meal periods and replenish them to ensure service without interruption
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
• Assist with receiving and storing food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
• Perform all duties according to food safety and sanitation best practices
• Other duties, as assigned

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Dishwasher/Utility Steward responsible for maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at an independent school in Philadelphia, PA, which educates students Pre-K through grade 12.

Must Be Available To Work

• Between 6a-4p, Monday-Friday
• Weekends as needed for special events

What The Utility Steward Will Do
