Job summary

R-2 Contractors seeks a Utility-Scale Power & Renewables Project Manager to own commercial, contractual, financial, and administrative success from turnover to closeout. This leader partners with Field Operations, anticipates risks, protects profitability, and builds enduring customer relationships.

Locations include Gilbert, AZ, Prineville, OR, and project sites with up to 20% nationwide travel. Compensation ranges from $140,000 to $220,000 DOE with employer-paid medical, dental, and vision.

Qualifications

• Experience managing heavy civil, solar, BESS, substation, transmission, or underground infrastructure in utility-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, estimating handoffs, project budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and change management.
• Ability to read construction plans, specifications, scope letters, and pricing schedules and translate them into execution requirements.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills; willingness to travel nationwide.
• Experience advancing into project management through hands-on field work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from turnover through closeout, coordinating commercial, contractual, financial, and administrative aspects.
• Own budgets, cost codes, commitments, and estimates; review variances and manage cash flow.
• Lead preconstruction readiness, mobilization, and scheduling with cross-functional teams.
• Own the master schedule, track milestones, and coordinate with field operations on lookahead and constraints.
• Administer notices, submittals, change directives, and contract records; pursue cost recovery where needed.
• Build trusted relationships with owners, general contractors, and stakeholders through timely reporting.
• Oversee project closeout, turnover documents, warranties, and final acceptance; drive continuous improvement.
