Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc. is seeking a visionary Utility-Scale Horizontal Directional Drill Division Manager to lead and grow our HDD Division from Gilbert, AZ or Prineville, OR. This executive role oversees bore planning, equipment utilization, safety, and strategic growth across nationwide projects.

You will develop leaders, strengthen customer relationships, and deliver safe, high-quality trenchless conduit installations while driving division performance and profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of HDD construction experience including utility-scale projects.
• Experience leading multiple HDD crews and large-scale trenchless operations.
• Strong knowledge of bore planning, utility locating, pilot bores, and reaming.
• Experience managing large HDD rigs, equipment, and tooling.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% monthly.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for HDD operations across multiple projects.
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of field leaders.
• Lead trenchless conduit installation, including bore planning, drilling, and execution.
• Plan bore profiles and crossing strategies for safe, efficient execution.
• Coordinate resources including equipment, tooling, and materials.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and leadership to ensure delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement and safety culture across the division.
