Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc. is seeking a visionary Utility-Scale Horizontal Directional Drill Division Manager to lead and grow our HDD division. This executive role oversees bore planning, drill setup, pilot bores, reaming, and conduit installations across national projects, ensuring safety, productivity, and exceptional quality.

Based in Gilbert, AZ or Prineville, OR, travel ~25% monthly to project sites. The position offers a generous salary ($180k–$250k DOE) and a path for developing future

Qualifications

10+ years of HDD construction experience (utility-scale power, renewables, transmission, telecom)
Proven leadership of multiple HDD crews and large trenchless projects
Strong bore planning, utility locating, pilot bores, reaming, and conduit installation knowledge

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for HDD operations across multiple projects
Mentor and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field leaders
Lead bore planning, setup, pilot bores, reaming, and conduit installations
Coordinate resources, equipment, and schedule to maximize efficiency
Build strong customer relationships and ensure safe, high-quality execution
