Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology AG in Urbana, OH is hiring a Paper Machine Utility Operator to support a 24/7 operation on a 3-2-2 schedule (7a–7p and 7p–7a rotations). You will ensure productivity while upholding safety and quality standards, performing inspections, and assisting in machine maintenance.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in manufacturing (paper mill preferred).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of manufacturing experience (paper mill experience preferred).
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.
• Ability to read work instructions and apply them to the job.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to train others and willingness to cross-train.

Responsibilities

• Achieve optimum productivity while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Support a 24/7 operation with a 3-2-2 schedule rotating 2 weeks 7am–7pm and 2 weeks 7pm–7am.
• Safely operate and troubleshoot the paper machine and stock prep areas.
• Inspect product and order specifications and communicate issues clearly.
• Retrieve order specs, documentation, and order data to/from SAP.
• Move material around the paper mill and assist in machine maintenance.

The role

As a member of the Urbana team, you will be responsible for achieving optimum productivity while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position supports a 24/7 operation working a 3-2-2 schedule rotating 2 weeks 7a-7p then 2 weeks 7p-7a.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Comprehensive understanding of personal and machine-specific safety


• Maintain a safe, clean work environment


• Physically inspect, communicate, and troubleshoot the quality of product and customer/order specifications


• Retrieve order specs, documentation, and order data to/from SAP


• Assist in machine maintenance and perform periodic maintenance to the machine


• Move material to and around the paper mill and stock prep area

What Do You Bring
