Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology in Urbana, OH is seeking a 3rd Shift Skilled Manufacturing Operator to support our on-site manufacturing operations. You will set up machines, troubleshoot, perform quality inspections, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain production flow in a make-to-order environment.

Overtime may be required; lifting up to 100 lbs; safety-focused and able to work with limited supervision in a team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic reading, arithmetic, and geometry skills required.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, ruler, tape measure).
• Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine(s) per customer/order specification (make-to-order products).
• Troubleshoot and adjust machine controls and components.
• Communicate with other departments to request raw materials and supplies to minimize downtime.
• Document and explain all production data according to procedures.
• Observe machine operation to detect and correct malfunctions.
• Perform quality inspections.
• Other duties may be required.

The role…

You will provide a full range of manufacturing support to 3rd Shift at our Urbana, OH facility. Duties include but are not limited to: General machine set-up and troubleshooting, utilizing safe operating procedures, and collaboration with team members throughout the facility.

Overtime: May be required depending on machine / area, volunteer opportunities, cross training opportunities.

What do you bring…

• High School Diploma or GED required, 4+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Comprehend and apply basic reading, arithmetic, and geometry (testing required)
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
• Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment
• Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldy parts weighing between 50 - 100 lbs, depending on the machine and work in a not climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to train others and willingness to cross-train
