Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology AG in Urbana, OH is seeking a Packer for the 3rd shift to prepare, pack, label, and stage finished products for shipping. You will closely support Production and Shipping, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely throughput in a high pace manufacturing setting.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 80 lbs, and working in a non-climate-controlled environment with a focus on safety and 5S practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Experience with packing, quality control, or manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to operate material handling and packing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, pack, label, and secure finished products per shipping/quality requirements.
• Perform visual quality inspections and report non-conforming products.
• Enter production/product information in SAP and support material flow.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following 5S and safety procedures.

The role…

The Packer is responsible for preparing, packing, labeling, and staging finished products while ensuring quality and accuracy throughout the process. This role works closely with Production and Shipping to support efficient operations while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and housekeeping.

How You’ll Make An Impact…

• Prepare, stage, pack, label, and secure finished products in accordance with shipping and quality requirements.
• Perform visual quality inspections during packing, identify potential defects, and report non-conforming products according to established procedures.
• Create product identification labels and accurately enter and retrieve production and product information within SAP.
• Support production and material flow by coordinating material needs, assisting with product movement and staging, and operating packing/material handling equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company safety, 5S, inventory control, packaging, and shipping procedures.

What Do You Bring…

• High School Diploma or GED; previous experience in product packing, quality control, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferred.
• Ability to operate or learn material handling and packing equipment, including forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, stretch wrap and strapping equipment, and core cutters.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills; previous experience with SAP or a similar system is preferred.
• Basic math, reading, and geometric comprehension with the ability to use precision measuring tools.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, including standing for up to 12 hours, lifting up to 80 lbs., and working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
