Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology in Urbana, OH is seeking a 2nd Shift Material Handler to support a fast-paced production facility. Duties include delivering raw materials to production, packing and sorting materials, and operating a range of fork trucks while following safe operating procedures.

Overtime is required every 3rd weekend, with potential additional overtime based on cross-training opportunities and volunteer support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate a variety of lifts (forklift, clamp truck, stand-up).
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as ruler, tape measure, caliper and micrometer.
• Physical requirement to lift and manipulate parts weighing ~50 lbs.
• Ability to train others and cross-train.
• Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to specified departments.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of materials and supplies.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Operate the paper compactor, bailers (plastic/paper), and core cutter.

The role…

You will provide a full range of material handling support to 2nd Shift at our Urbana, OH facility. Duties include but are not limited to: delivering raw materials to production, packing and sorting materials, operating a variety of fork trucks, utilizing safe operating procedures, and collaborating with team members throughout the facility.

Overtime: Required overtime every 3rd weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Additional overtime may be required depending volunteer opportunities and cross training opportunities.

What do you bring…

• Ability to operate a variety of lifts, (forklift, clamp truck, stand-up), and stretch wrap machinery, manual and/or electric hand jack, strapping equipment, bailers/compactor, and core cutter
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper and micrometer
• Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldly parts weighing approximately 50 lbs
• Ability to train others and willingness to cross train
• Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment
