Job summary

USIC is hiring a Utility Inspection Technician in Lexington, KY to check gas meters for leaks and corrosion. You will perform visual inspections, complete required paperwork, and report to start of each shift. Overtime/weekends may be required and hands-on training is provided.

Ideal candidates are comfortable outdoors in varying weather, able to lift up to 75 lbs, and proficient with basic technology. A valid driver's license and clear driving record are required to join our safety‑driven team.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Check gas meters for leaks and corrosion and perform visual inspections.
• Complete required paperwork/data during inspections (electronic or paper).
• Report to work area on time at the start of each shift.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions and document findings.
