Job summary

USIC is seeking an Advanced Locate Technician in North Royalton, OH. This role involves locating underground utilities, marking locations, and documenting finds with a company laptop and phone. Fast-paced outdoor work, safety-conscious environment, and full-time hours with possible overtime.

Requirements include at least 1 year of utility locating experience, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and a valid driver’s license. Training is provided; a drug screen is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of utility locating experience required.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to read locate tickets, maps and prints; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities safely and accurately.
• Search thoroughly for all underground utilities in an area.
• Complete required paperwork and document each locate.
• Work with company-provided laptop and smartphone in field.

Previous outdoor experience is a plusAvailable to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as neededAbility to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expectedAble to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).Valid driver's license and a safe driving recordAble to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.Proficiency with technologyAble to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilitiesAble to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints; possess basic math skill to calculate distancesAble to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
