Job summary

City of Pasadena, TX seeks a Utility Worker IV Lead in the Street & Bridge Division to supervise and perform skilled manual labor on drainage, streets, parks, and public infrastructure. Responsibilities include leading a crew, excavating, pipe installation, and operating backhoes, dump trucks, and other equipment, while enforcing safety and proper traffic control.

Requires high school diploma/GED with 1–3 years experience and a Texas Class B CDL; experience with heavy equipment preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years of related experience or equivalent
• Valid Texas Class B CDL with a good driving record
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor outdoors in all weather
• Experience operating excavation and heavy equipment (preferred)
• Additional training in traffic control or trench safety (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and related infrastructure.
• Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, pipe installation, and related utility work.
• Install, maintain, and remove traffic control devices and barricades ensuring work-zone safety.
• Operate and assist with storm drainage camera inspection systems and other machinery.
• Provide guidance to crew members, promote teamwork, and enforce safety procedures.
