Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) in Atlanta is seeking a Senior Utility Coordination Team Lead to join the Subsurface Utility Engineering group. You will lead the Utility Coordination Team, oversee DOT utility relocations, and coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to keep projects on track.

This role requires 10+ years’ experience on DOT projects, strong communication and negotiation skills, and supervisory experience. A BS/BA is required; PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a utility coordinator on DOT projects or comparable utility company experience.
• 10+ years’ experience drafting agreements for relocating utilities per local, state and federal processes.
• Experience providing utility coordination for Design-Build projects.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• 10+ years’ supervisory experience of projects and personnel preferred.
• BS/BA and/or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineer license a plus.
• State DOT pre-certifications to function as a Utility Coordination lead (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Train, lead and mentor the Utility Coordination Team across all coordination aspects.
• Maintain existing clients and perform business development.
• Develop scope and fee proposals for assigned projects.
• Oversee utility adjustment coordination for roadway and utility improvement projects.
• Manage client invoicing and accounts receivable; ensure Direct Labor goals.
• Perform other tasks to support SAM’s strategic goals.
