Job summary

Benchmark Utility Services is seeking a Project Manager to lead utility construction projects from planning through completion within a design-build environment. You will manage schedules, budgets, resources, subcontractors, vendors, and client communications while collaborating with superintendents, field teams, and support departments to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 5+ years in utility construction or infrastructure PM.
• Proficient with project controls and scheduling.
• Experience with design-build environments.
• Proficient with Procore, Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and manage project schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Build and track project budgets, forecast costs, and control spending.
• Serve as primary client contact and provide updates.
• Coordinate with superintendents and field teams for labor and materials.
• Oversee subcontractor and vendor procurement and contracts.
• Ensure work meets specifications, quality standards, and inspections.
• Maintain project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders).
• Identify risks and implement mitigation to protect schedule and budget.
• Lead change orders processes and pricing approvals.
• Support preconstruction scope review and constructability.
• Coordinate design information flow with BIM and design teams.
• Lead project closeout activities and client turnover.
• Promote safety culture with the safety team.
• Mentor Assistant PMs and Field Engineers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
