Job summary

Benchmark Utility Services is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field activities on complex utility construction projects. You will manage subcontractors, crews, and field resources to deliver work safely, on time, and within budget, while interfacing with project management and clients.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on safety and quality across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience overseeing field operations and managing multiple trades, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, specifications, construction methods, and safety standards.
• Hands-on experience coordinating work to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Proven leadership to direct, motivate, and develop field teams.
• Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify field challenges early and coordinate timely resolutions with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily field operations, including subcontractors, trades, field personnel, equipment, materials, and other project resources.
• Monitor progress to ensure alignment with milestones, schedules, and performance expectations.
• Collaborate with project management to forecast manpower, equipment, and material needs.
• Review drawings and specs to ensure field teams understand the scope and execute accurately.
• Perform field cost control via monitoring productivity, quantities, and waste.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior field staff and maintain safety focus.
