Job summary

Benchmark Utility Services is seeking a Project Manager to lead utility construction projects from planning through closeout in a design-build environment.

You will manage schedules, budgets, labor, equipment and subcontractors, while maintaining clear client communication and rigorous safety standards. This role demands strong leadership, organization and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting, with collaboration with BIM/design teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM, Civil Eng, Env Eng, or related field (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of utility construction or heavy civil project management experience.
• Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and construction documents.
• Willingness to travel and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and manage project schedules, including total, interim, and look-ahead planning.
• Build, manage, and track project budgets; monitor costs and forecast financial performance.
• Serve as primary client contact, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction.
• Coordinate with superintendents and field teams for labor, equipment and materials.
• Oversee subcontractor and vendor procurement, performance, and contract compliance.
• Ensure work meets specifications, quality standards and inspections.
• Manage change orders, scope reviews, pricing, tracking and approvals.
• Support preconstruction scope review and constructability assessments.
• Coordinate design information flow with BIM and design teams.
• Lead project closeout activities and client turnover.
