Job summary

Superior Pipeline Services is seeking an Operator I to join a small crew and operate heavy equipment including mini excavators to dig around live utilities. The role focuses on placing utilities for residential, multifamily, and commercial sites while adhering to safety standards and DOT requirements.

Candidates should have 1+ years of backhoe/mini excavator operation and utility digging experience, with preference for dry utilities and a construction background.

Qualifications

• One (1+) plus years of experience in backhoe/mini excavator operation is required.
• One (1+) plus years of experience digging and working around underground utilities is required.
• Two (2+) plus years of demonstrated experience in dry utilities preferred.
• Three (3+) plus years’ experience in a construction role is required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maneuvers, navigates, or drives vehicles or mechanized equipment or passenger vehicles.
• Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• Uses relevant information and judgment to determine compliance with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Provides mid-level laborer functions including hand digging, setting up traffic control, equipment operations, loading materials on safety sites.
• Follows 811 digging laws and company’s safe digging practices.
• Maintains paperwork including DVIR and driver’s log book.
