Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure is seeking an Operator I to join a restoration crew and operate heavy equipment on utility construction sites. You will inspect gear, follow safety practices, and work with a teammate using hand signals to excavate safely.

Required: 1+ year in backhoe/mini excavator operation and experience around underground utilities; dry utilities exp. preferred; basic prints and facility sketches reading is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience operating backhoes or mini excavators.
• 2+ years digging around underground utilities.
• 2+ years in dry utilities preferred.
• Experience reading basic prints and underground facility sketches preferred.
• Substitutions of education and experience on a year-for-year basis accepted.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maneuver heavy machinery on utility construction sites.
• Inspect equipment and report any defects or safety issues.
• Follow safety rules and respond to hand signals during excavation.
• Read utility prints and read maps to locate underground utilities.
• Perform tasks like digging, setting up traffic controls, and material handling as needed.
