Job summary

Village of Paw Paw is seeking a utility billing clerk to aggregate meter reads, prepare bills, process payments and provide customer service. This full-time role reports to the Village Manager and uses BS&A billing software. Hours are Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with a 1 hour lunch.

Projected start date is January 4, 2027. Responsibilities include preparing reports, handling delinquent accounts, and maintaining accurate customer records for residential, commercial, and industrial accounts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in office management is required.
• Experience with billing processes and customer service is beneficial.
• Proficiency with BS&A billing software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aggregate utility meter reads and prepare Village utility bills.
• Process payments and handle delinquent accounts with follow-up actions.
• Provide excellent customer service by phone, email, and in person.
• Maintain accurate customer accounts and utility data across locations.
