Job summary

Lauterbach & Amen, a well-established CPA firm, is seeking a full-time Utility Billing/Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Client Accounting and Advisory Services team in Grayslake, IL.

The role handles utility bills, resident inquiries, payments processing, and records management, with an emphasis on accuracy and customer service. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and 4 weeks of paid time off.

Salary ranges from $55,000 to $60,000, depending on location, experience, and credentials.

Qualifications

• Experience with utility billing processes and accounts payable is preferred.
• General bookkeeping or office experience required (1–6 years).
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and distribute utility bills to residents.
• Respond to resident inquiries regarding billing, usage, and account balances.
• Process and record incoming payments from multiple sources.
• Maintain records and file backups for accounts.
• Assist the front office with phone coverage and resident inquiries as needed.
