Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Utilities BESS Services Lead to drive growth, leadership, and delivery of services for utility-scale battery energy storage projects. You will shape strategy, develop client relationships, and oversee execution from engineering to construction support.

The role emphasizes Seller-Doer PM execution, portfolio management, and development of repeatable service offerings with a focus on safe, profitable delivery. Hybrid work and travel up to 50% are expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Travel up to 50%; hybrid work arrangement with remote 2 days/week and 3 days in-office.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the strategic plan for growing the Utility BESS Services business.
Lead and grow Owner's Engineering, FEED, and related pre-EPC services.
Balance client commitments with staffing and business objectives.
Monitor portfolio health, utilization, schedule performance, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Lead portfolio reviews and corrective actions as needed.
Identify emerging client needs and develop service offerings.
Establish trusted advisor relationships with utility asset owners and operators.
Accountable for portfolio revenue, backlog growth, margin, and forecasting.
Support proposals, pricing, and commercial negotiations.
Manage change orders, claims, and contractual risks.
Lead budgeting and business planning for Utility BESS Services.
Develop, implement, and refine the Seller-Doer PM model.
Train and mentor PMs to identify follow-on opportunities.
