Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a seasoned Engineering leader to drive all facility utilities needs, including Electrical, Refrigeration, Steam, and more, across designated US facilities. You will oversee design, maintenance, and operational optimization to keep production running smoothly.

This remote role requires relocating or commuting within 60 miles of a Smithfield location and travel to facilities as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management or project leadership.
Knowledge of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration.
Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Operational Support & Optimization: identify and implement solutions for facility utilities systems and develop long-term maintenance plans.
Project Development & Engineering Design: coordinate with external engineering resources and manage scope, RFPs, and budgeting.
Leadership & Team Development: mentor engineers and lead project teams.
Documentation & Reporting: develop engineering reports and asset data bases.
People Management: drive positive employee experience through development and coaching.
