Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Engineering Utilities role focused on optimizing refrigeration, boilers, and compressed air systems within US facilities. You will design, implement, and troubleshoot projects to improve efficiency and reduce waste across the production network.

The role requires a degree in Engineering, professional refrigeration certifications, and the ability to travel up to half the time. You will collaborate with plant teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 2+ years of experience.
• RETA CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator) certification, ANSI/IIAR2 certification, Garden City Program Operator II certification, or equivalent ammonia training program.
• Theoretical understanding of industrial refrigeration systems and how to apply it to the role.
• Travel up to 50% to other locations for project work.

Responsibilities

• Support all US Fresh and Packaged Meat Facilities as required.
• Design and implement equipment selections, obtain quotes and schedule work.
• Plan and optimize utilities engineering improvement projects and budgeting.
• Research and test new technology and support Operations management.
