Qualifications

• Massachusetts Third Class Engineer License required.
• Three+ years experience with high pressure boilers and related equipment.
• Rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong monitoring, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
• Comfort with computers, test equipment, and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and inspect boilers, generators, air compressors, cooling and water treatment systems, and related equipment.
• Maintain logs of operating, maintenance, and safety activity for regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with air, water, and safety regulations.
• Control boiler water levels, combustion air, and fuel flow to burners.
• Test water quality and take corrective action for steam and wastewater systems.
• Interpret gauges and charts to verify normal operation.
• Troubleshoot problems and adjust controls and valves for reliability.
• Isolate equipment safely using Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Report operating conditions to the Chief Engineer and complete audits as assigned.
• Perform other duties as required.
